HRM Leave and Attendance Approval Workflow

A missed checkout and a pending leave request need different answers. HR can resolve both more easily when the employee record, work schedule and approval history are easy to find.

An employee wants to know why leave is still pending. A manager wants to know who will be available next week. Give both of them a clear record to check, with dates, status and the person responsible for the next decision.

Centralize employee records

Employee profiles should hold joining details, department, role, reporting manager, contact information and related documents. This reduces the time HR spends searching for basic information.

Make leave approvals visible

Leave workflows should show requested dates, approval status, manager action and remaining balance where applicable. This helps managers plan staffing without long message chains.

  • Define who approves each leave request
  • Keep pending requests visible
  • Record approval history
  • Connect leave with attendance reporting

Handle attendance exceptions fairly

Late check-ins, missed check-outs and special working days need a clear review path. A systemized exception workflow gives employees a way to explain issues and gives managers a consistent way to approve or reject them.

Give managers practical reports

HR reports should make absence trends, attendance exceptions, team availability and workload patterns easy to review. This helps leadership act early instead of discovering issues at month end.

How Zeyora helps

Zeyora HRM supports employee management, attendance workflows, leave control, approvals and reports for GCC teams that need operational visibility.

Check the policy and approval route when figures differ

Open the employee’s annual leave policy and check the day mode, annual entitlement and accrual rate. If the balance was carried over from another system, find out which date it covers and whether recent approved leave is already included.

Try a request across the employee’s weekend before rolling a policy out to the team. Working-day and calendar-day methods can give different results for the same dates.

For a request that is waiting, check the reporting manager and final HR approvers. For missing device attendance, note the employee code, date and expected punch times. Zeyora can check the supported device connection using those details.
